Awareness about physical body: KEY TO OTHER BODIES

If we are mindful of our physical body and are aware of it during our daily life, and conscious about its movements and subtle reaction, it is a significant step towards knowing of other hidden bodies lying within us. So start being passively aware of your physical feeling of your body while doing various chores and how it brings a change in you in a subtle way. Just be a little mindful of what you are doing do it consciously do not suppress.

breathing and awareness

 Being aware of  breathing in and out can help us to watch our mind and slow down the thought building process.Mind is used to activity and it finds difficult to be quiet, so by giving it a task of watching breath, one can keep it tied to the the present and be mindful of what is happening in the present. 

When we watch and observe, mind also becomes slow and we get better clarity of perception,  pleasure seeking and sorrow avoidance games which the mind plays.

how to be aware?

It can be new way to live our daily life if we can be a little aware of what is happening around us,physical surroundings such as tress/interior of room/ looking from the window as well as psychological feelings, mood swings going within us. Just observe these changes: how we react to feeling of envy, pleasure, anger, ups and down in our moods, without justifying or analyzing without being judgmental and not controlling or suppressing even remotely, not creating any moral police or super cop.

What is attention then?. You are inattentive being lost in day dreaming, mind weaving a tapestry of thoughts from some incidents of past or  future events and then you realize this state of mind that is the beginning of attention. So attention is to be aware about your state of inattention.

If this can happen we may get some understanding of structure of our mind and see the gap between two thoughts and that is the first step towards meditation. Being aware may help us to quieten our minds in natural way without suppression of thoughts but seeing the necessity or futility  of thoughts in our life. Where thoughts are required to be used and where it needs to stop by understanding.
